Biography

Her artistic sparkle comes from her father Carlo, architect and artist.

She graduates in Painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she develops her passion for abstract painting and the human figure.

In the first period of activity, she expresses a geometric and abstract language, realizing big-sized artworks, whose main theme is the tension and the strenght of the diagonal, which symbolizes the continuous flowing of life.

In the early '80 the artist approaches figurative art, stimulated by the desire of expressing the strong feelings aroused through the observation of faces, considered alive and real subjects. She then starts an intense period of inner research which will have a strong impact on her artistic expression, and she gets interested in a closer examination of meditation and morphopsychology in order to have a deeper contact with the subjects of her artworks. Since that moment she has been focusing on portraits, depicting important personalities of the world of industry and culture, including: Mantero, Buccellati, Mentasti, Trussardi, The Princes Ruffo di Calabria, The Counts Borromeo, Marzotto and Belgiojoso.

In 1991 her first big anthologic exhibition "Family Portraits" takes place at the Museum of Contemporary History in Milan, featuring a wide selection of her works with watercolors, oil, charcoal and acrylic. Such event launches her committment to portraying, which will lead her to the USA, where she comes in contact with Leo Castelli, who shows great appreciation for her works.

Her work arouses great interest precisely for the relationship between the classical tradition of portraying and her introspective and contemporary style, where portraits become a means to celebrate the history of a family, fulfilling their need for "eternity".

Great relevance is given also to sculpture, form of art very appreciated by her father as well. Light is a leitmotiv in her art: our inner light connected with the cosmic light. Her constant spiritual research is highlighted in the feeling of harmony and strength conveyed both by her Women in bronze and by her latest abstract works in steel and bronze.

In recent times, Kriss has considerably been involved in the research of the relationship between the woman and her Goddesses/Archetypes: Minerva, Venus and the Yoga Woman represent the strength, the femininity and the spirituality which every woman comes in contact and interacts with.

She currently lives and works in Milan.

Biografia

La sensibilità artistica le viene trasmessa dal padre Carlo, architetto e artista.

Nel 1970 si diploma in pittura all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera di Milano, dove sviluppa la sua passione per la pittura astratta e la figura umana.

Nel primo periodo di attività si volge al linguaggio astratto – geometrico, realizzando opere di grande formato che affrontano il tema della tensione e della forza attraverso la diagonale che indica il divenire della vita.

Dalla metà degli anni ’80 si avvicina all’arte figurativa, stimolata dal desiderio di tradurre sulla tela le forti emozioni suscitate dall’osservazione del volto, soggetto vivo e reale. Inizia così un percorso di ricerca interiore che connoterà fortemente la sua espressività artistica e approfondisce lo studio della meditazione e della morfopsicologia per entrare più in profondità nel carattere dei personaggi. Da questo momento si dedica quasi esclusivamente al ritratto realizzando opere per importanti personalità del mondo dell’industria e della cultura tra le quali le famiglie Mantero, Buccellati, Mentasti, Trussardi, i Principi Ruffo di Calabria, i Conti Borromeo, Marzotto, Belgioioso.

E’ del 1991 la prima grande mostra antologica “ Ritratti di Famiglia” al Museo di Storia Contemporanea di Milano con un’ampia selezione dei suoi lavori ad acquarello, olio, carboncino e acrilico. Da qui la sua produzione ritrattistica avrà un grande impulso che la porterà a lavorare in Europa e negli USA dove incontra Leo Castelli, che mostra un forte apprezzamento per il suo lavoro.

La sua opera suscita grande interesse proprio per la connessione tra la tradizione classica del ritratto ed il suo stile contemporaneo e introspettivo, dove il ritratto diventa strumento di celebrazione della storia di una famiglia soddisfacendo il bisogno di “eterno”.

In seguito si avvicina ad un’altra forma artistica amata dal padre: la scultura. La luce è la costante nella sua arte: la ns luce interiore connessa con la luce cosmica. La sua costante ricerca spirituale è evidenziata nel senso di armonia e di forza trasmesso  sia dalle donne luce che dalle ultime sculture astratte in acciaio e in bronzo.

In quest’ultimo periodo è molto coinvolta nella ricerca della relazione tra la donna e le sue Dee/ Archetipo: Minerva, Venere e la Donna Yoga rappresentano la forza, la femminilità e la spiritualità con cui ogni donna entra in contatto e interagisce.

Vive e lavora a Milano.

Продолжая традиции своего отца Карло, архитектора и художника, Крисс Дубини закончила Академию изящных искусств Брера в Милане, где специализировалась на абстрактной живописи и академическом рисунке. В первый период работы она занималась больше абстракцией, особенно геометрической абстракцией.
С начала 80 гг. Крис увлеклась реалистическим портретом, который давал возможность выражать реальные чувства модели, наблюдаемые автором. В следующем периоде своего творчества наступило увлечение восточными практиками, оказавшими сильное влияние на художницу. Она ищет вдохновение в медитации и в более глубокой духовной связи с моделью, увлекается самоанализом.
В 90 гг. Крис сосредоточилась на портретах членов светских семей, изображающих промышленников, деятелей культуры и моды, в том числе: Мантеро, Бучелисти, Ментасти, Труссарди, семья князя Ruffo di Calabria, семья графа Borromeo, Marzotto and Belgiojoso.
 
В 1991 году состоялась ее первая большая выставка «Антология семейного портрета» в Музее современной истории Милана, на которой были представлены как станковые работы, смешанная техника (акрил, уголь), так и графические акварельные работы автора. Успех выставки привел ее в США, где она познакомилась с Лео Кастелли, который дал высокую оценку ее портретам. Ее творчество вызвало большой интерес, так как сочетало в себе классические реалистические традиции прошлого с более современными принципами самоанализа и самонаблюдения. Они удачно сочетались в работе над семейными портретами аристократов, которые стремились запечатлеть свои семьи для истории.
В творчестве Крисс Дубини большое место занимает также скульптура, которую очень ценил ее отец. Она использует как традиционные для Италии техники, такие так керамику и майолику, так и бронзу, металл, сталь. Внутренний свет и связь с космическим светом в последнее время являются лейтмотивами в разных жанрах ее творчества, где особенно выделяется тема взаимоотношения женщины и ее духовного кумира (богини).
В настоящее время художница живет и работает в Милане.
